Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College & Hospital (SNMMCH), Dhanbad, formerly known as Patliputra Medical College (PMC), is one of the oldest government medical colleges in Jharkhand. Established in 1969 (with academic operations beginning in the early 1970s), the college was later renamed in honor of Shaheed Nirmal Mahto. It is affiliated with Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University (BBMKU), Dhanbad and is recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
